So if you are keen on doing this project then here are few Tile backsplash painting tips to help you out. • Cleaning the tile is the first important step. Mop with a wet cloth and remove dirt, grease and other stains if present in the backsplash. • If there is any mildew use hydrogen peroxide solution to remove it. • If there are any cracks in grout lines it is better to repair it before you begin the paint job. • Sand the surface with 220 grit sandpaper. After sanding wipe the dust away with a cloth. • Now prime the surface using any good quality tile product. Use two coats of prime for the surface. • As for the paint choose the paint depending upon the color of cabinets, floors etc. • You can use both gloss and oil based paints for the tile. The best paint is of course oil based ones as they stick better. • Now use a good quality brush or roller and paint the surface with a thin coat.
