Terra cotta tiles come in many sizes. The size of the Terra cotta tiles on the kitchen floor can be used to give the kitchen various appearances. Large tiles on the kitchen floor can make the kitchen look more spacious. Large sized Terra cotta tiles also give the floor a cleaner look since the number of grout lines are less. However the size of the tiles should be determined by the size of the kitchen. Bigger tiles might look good in a big kitchen but they will look out of scale and out of place in a small kitchen.
There are several ways to give a pattern to your kitchen floor. These are grid patterns, offset patterns, herringbone pattern and diagonal pattern. Find out which pattern looks the best in your kitchen. Generally diagonal and herringbone patterns are visually more attractive and eye-catching.
Arrange the colors according to their shade. For example, for a brown shade start from the lightest shade and end up with the darkest shade. Once you do this for all the colors you will get a fair idea of how to use them. Avoid a cluster of tiles of the same color. A balanced distribution of the colors throughout the floor will make it visually more appealing. |
