Hardwood
floor protection - How to care for your hardwood floor
If you are interested in hardwood floor
protection then that's not very surprising. After all, your hardwood floors add
a certain charm, beauty and elegance that cannot be replicated by other floors
like laminate flooring or tiles ...
Hardwood floors do add a certain character to homes - a character that does
reflect well on the home owners. But keeping hardwood floors looking great for a
long time takes effort and lots of care.
Here are a few hardwood floor protection tips ...
Avoid water on your hardwood floors - Standing water can damage
your hardwood floor and you may want to place area rugs to absorb water wherever
there is a chance of water accumulating on the floor. Typical places you may
want to place a rug include areas around the refrigerator and more.
Place floor mats at entrances - Abrasives or sharp materials on
the soles of shoes can damage your hardwood floor. Floor mats may be able to
save your floor from these.
Avoid sliding furniture on your floor - Sliding heavy furniture
may damage your floor. If at all you have to move your furniture, then you may
want to try lifting it instead. The next best alternative would be to use felt
pads ... and in case you want to use felt pads, then you might want to make sure
that the felt pads are free of abrasive materials.
