These days, filing systems are a part life at any
office. Regardless of how advanced computers become, the need for filing papers
never seems to recede. And this makes good filing systems - whether they be
paper files or electronic files - very necessary at any office.
In case you are interested in a few quick, easy and handy tips for filing
papers, here are a few that may save many hours of work ...
Rule #1:
File only what you may need in the future, and conversely - do not file anything
that you will never need. And this means that you shred, recycle or toss
all the paper that you possibly can. Though this may seem like "common sense" (
in case something like that indeed exists :-) ), many people seem to obsessively
store all the paper that they can lay their hands on. Such people may be wasting
time sifting papers that may have been eliminated.Agreed - in some cases, this can be easier said than done ... it may not always
be easy to differentiate between what you may need and what you may not. In that
case, you might want to consult an accountant to get to know what kinds of paper
are to be filed and what can be shredded.
Rule #2: Put off
procrastination ! File it now ! Letting papers pile up means that you may have
to spend a lot more time eventually cleaning it all up. By making filing a part
of your home or office activities you will save a lot of time and effort and
become better organized.
